Provide Background Details and Rationale:
|
The Park Hill School District has worked with Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to update their Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The goal of this plan is to reduce loss of life, property, human suffering, economic disruption and disaster assistance cost from natural and man-made disasters. In addition, federal regulations require all state and local governments, including school districts and universities, to adopt the regional hazards mitigation plan in order to be eligible for any Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds in the event there is a need to fix or rebuild after a presidential disaster is declared. This plan also affects any FEMA grants the Park Hill School District may apply for the next five years.
