To use time within the board meetings more efficiently, the school board may utilize a consent agenda whenever appropriate. Consent agenda items are routine in nature or are in the domain of the administration.
Any board member may ask the superintendent and/or board president to remove any item(s) from a meeting’s consent agenda, and that request shall be granted, provided that the request is made at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
When the consent agenda is presented to the board for action at the meeting, removal of any item(s) on the consent agenda will require a vote of a majority of the board members present. If an item is removed from the consent agenda, the board will then vote on and pass or deny the remaining items on the consent agenda by a single motion. The minutes of the board meeting shall include the outcome of the vote and a list of all the items that appeared on the consent agenda.
