Provide Background Details and Rationale:
|
A bid for asphalt work associated with the Park Hill South Bond project was approved by the Board at the October 26, 2023 meeting (item 7.3). Since then, the approved asphalt contractor, Calvert’s Paving, has retracted its proposal. This item is to rescind the prior approval and contract with Calvert’s Paving, and to move to the next lowest bidder. The original bid/contract amount for Calvert's Paving was $489,146. The new recommended contractor is Wil-Pav at a bid/contract amount of $494,909 This change would result in an additional expenditure of $5,763.

Provide Funding Source and Estimated Cost:

Funding will be provided from the 2022 No-Tax Increase Bond funds. The estimated cost of the total project is $26,711,000. The district received a total of 5 bids for the bid package. District staff is recommending the bid from the following contractor to perform the work:
*SOW-321 - Asphalt Paving - Wil-Pav - $494,909
