Provide Background Details and Rationale: The Platte County Commission developed the Outreach Grant Program to promote the development of local parks and recreation facilities and programs and to enhance the quality of life for all residents. The program strengthens partnerships between the County, local governments, and non-profit organizations to strategically meet common goals. Applicants must be a local government, school district or other public subdivision of the state of Missouri. In addition, IRS-designated non-profit organizations are also eligible to apply. Groups are encouraged to partner with other organizations or the private sector, to provide matching resources for the proposed project.

Hopewell Elementary School is requesting funds that will provide an enriched outdoor recreational space available for Hopewell students and the surrounding community.
Provide Funding Source and Estimated Cost: The grant application is requesting $28,000 from Platte County Parks and Recreation to support the school's playground.

Matching contributions from the Park Hill School District will be in the form of additional playground equipment, playground surface, and installation for $170,397.30.
