Provide Background Details and Rationale: As a part of the April 2017 No-Tax-Increase Bond issue projects, voters approved the construction of Elementary School #11 now known as Hopewell Elementary per the recommendation of the Enrollment-based Long-Range Facility Plan. The district is targeting August 2019 for the opening of Hopewell. The location has been set for 68th street and N. Waukomis.

To open by August 2019, construction begins on Hopewell in April or May. Representatives from Universal Construction presented to the Board of Education a summary of the anticipated construction timeline and bid schedule to meet the August 2019 target at the February 8, 2018 Board meeting. This is the second of several bid packages that will be brought before the Board for approval in the coming months.

Bids were received for the following packages, which represents a portion of the overall construction project:

*BP-031 Concrete Footings
*BP-033 Concrete Slabs
*BP-221 Facility Water and Sanitary Utilities

The district received a total of thirteen bids for the bid packages. District staff is recommending the bids from the following contractors to perform the work:

*BP-031 Concrete Footings - Leavcon II - $632,000
*BP-033 Concrete Slabs - Epic - $511,240
*BP-221 Facility Water and Sanitary Utilities - Site Rite - $421,450
